| Bio: | Name: Remus John Lupin Date of Birth: March 10, 1960 House: Gryffindor - one of the legendary Marauders Nickname: Moony Remus John Lupin was born 3/10/1960 to a Muggle mother and wizard father, making him a half-blood. During his early childhood, his father was involved in an altercation with Fenrir Greyback, who retaliated by biting Remus, effectively transforming him into a werewolf, who changes to wolf form at each full moon. He attended Hogwarts during the years of 1971-1978 and was sorted Gryffindor. A shy and quiet child, used to being shunned for his affliction, he nevertheless became friends with fellow Gryffindors Sirius Black, James Potter and Peter Pettigrew. Together, the four became the Marauders, legendary in their time for pranks, amongst other things. So close did the four become that James, Sirius and Peter all learned the transformative skill of the animagus, in order to keep Remus company during his transformations. James became a stag (aka Prongs), Sirius a dog (aka Padfoot) and Peter a rat (aka Wormtail). In addition, Albus Dumbledore planted the Whomping Willow, equipped with a secret entrance, where Remus could retreat to during the fill moon. The passage led to the Shrieking Shack, where the Marauders gather. As a werewolf, Remus often has trouble finding work, although he was employed at Hogwarts as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor during the years of 1993-1994. His secret however was revealed, and he chose to leave his post in order to avoid issues with parents at school. After that, he worked with the Order of the Phoenix after the second rising of Voldemort. Remus remains close to his childhood friends and hopes to someday have a family of his own, though he worries about the werewolf genetics following his future children. | |||||||||
